Randy Baker is a U.S. Army Veteran who served from 1971–1974, including a tour in Vietnam where he led his unit with discipline and dependability. After his service, he built a distinguished career in heavy equipment and diesel technology, earning factory certifications from Thermo King and completing advanced training with Manitowoc, Grove, JLG, and Hiab. He operated an independent service territory from Maine to Florida, later becoming a Train-the-Trainer for Hiab, a Service Manager for a heavy-equipment dealer, and a diesel instructor at Lincoln Tech.

Randy’s commitment to service extends deeply into his community. He has volunteered with local food shelves, VFW, American Legion, Honor Flight CT, and CERT teams in CT and FL, helping run emergency shelters and train new volunteers. He also co-led the Somers Veterans Peer Support Group and is a trusted, frequent volunteer for Somers Department of Veterans Affairs projects and campaigns, actively supporting veterans’ benefits and legislative advocacy.
