Vito A. Riccio
Board Member, U.S. Army Veteran

Vito A. Riccio is a Vietnam War Era veteran who served honorably at Headquarters Southern Command in the Panama Canal Zone from 1971 to 1973. Attached to the Army Inspector General with collateral duties in Military Intelligence (G-2), he supported missions across Central and South America, gaining meaningful exposure to veterans’ memorials and historical sites throughout the region.

Vito holds multiple professional degrees and certifications in education and served as a faculty member at Longmeadow High School from 1974 to 2005. He advised two graduating classes, coordinating major student activities and fundraising efforts. Earlier, he served as Vice-President of Student Government and Speaker of the House at Concord University, overseeing a $6,000,000 student-activities budget.

An active volunteer in Somers, Vito served on the Ad-Hoc Committee for the Somers Senior Center expansion and brings additional expertise in landscape design, architecture, and land stewardship. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Somers Veterans & Families Legacy Park Ad Hoc Committee and as a Legacy of Service: Somers Veterans Foundation, Inc.,Fundraising Subcommittee Chairman.
