William (Bill) J. McGurk is a retired U.S. Navy captain whose 28 years of active and reserve service shaped a lifelong commitment to leadership, integrity, and public service. His naval career provided the foundation for his decades of success as President and Chief Executive Officer of Rockville Bank. Bill has been an engaged civic leader across CT, serving on numerous boards and committees, including the Connecticut Community College Board of Trustees as Audit Chairman, the Manchester Community College Foundation as treasurer and now Trustee Emeritus, and both the Asnuntuck and Manchester Community College Foundation Boards. His support for higher education is reflected in named spaces honoring his contributions.

Bill’s community involvement spans hospital boards, United Way, Interval House, Rotary, Kiwanis, Chambers of Commerce, church boards, and multiple veterans’ organizations, including the Connecticut State Veterans Memorial. A longtime supporter of the Somers Department of Veterans Affairs, he brings experience, generosity, and dedication to the Foundation’s mission.
